Saferworld works to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives. We work with civil society, governments and international organisations to encourage and support effective policies and practices through advocacy, research and policy development, and through supporting the actions of others.
Over the past three decades we have been highly successful in securing income from statutory and multilateral donor sectors. Saferworld is looking for an experienced statutory, institutional or trust and foundation fundraising manager, preferably from the international sector, to join our extremely productive and effective Funding team.
The Funding and Project Development Manager will have significant experience of leading, writing and co-ordinating high value proposals to statutory or institutional funders, such as the UN, EU or DFID.
In collaboration with programme teams s/he will develop robust project designs and plans, produce successful and timely applications, including theories of change, log-frames and other application supporting documents, such as budgets. Ideally the candidate will have experience of producing competitive tendering applications.
The post-holder will work closely with Saferworld programme teams with a focus on:
· Nurturing and developing donor and prospect funders relationships
· Developing high quality programme designs
· Leading on the production of successful applications donors
· Sustaining donor relationships through effective grant management and donor stewardship
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of securing funds for high value six figure sums from the institutional or statutory sector and experience of proposal development, including ability to convey complex models in an accessible language. Thematic knowledge of peacebuilding, security and justice, governance, gender or conflict transformation would be an advantage
